Our History


The club was founded in 1929.



Current membership is approximately 90 and consists of the following categories.

Full senior members. Midweek ladies.

Junior / Senior members – 18 to 12 years.

Junior members – under 18 (scholars).



Six tennis courts and a practise wall. Three courts are floodlit and can be hired out. A fully self-contained clubhouse and a Kiddies Playground.


Leagues and Tournaments

A competitive club participating in many leagues and tournaments throughout the year together with our annual in-house club Championships.

Host to a very successful Men’s and Ladies Tournament called the "Langley Mills Tournament".

Have a reputation of being one of the top clubs in KwaZulu-Natal both on and off the courts.



Have frequently won various league divisions within the eThekwini Tennis Association, as well as various KwaZulu Natal Shield events.


Social Activities

Regular Saturday evening braais and functions such as Bingo evenings, Champagne Breakfasts, Annual Prizegiving Dinner Dance, Weekend and Day trips to the Berg and other interesting venues.


Opportunities / Training

Tennis+ are the resident coaches at the Hillcrest Tennis Club.

Junior “Club” Group for scholars on Saturdays from 09h00 to 11h00.





The main club currently consisting of and amalgamating the following club sections: Social, Tennis, Bowls, Soccer, Pigeons and Hillcrest Villagers Athletic Club. A Club committed to serve the Hillcrest and adjacent communities and willing to accommodate other sports interest where feasible.


An air-conditioned Main Bar with outside braai area. A separate hall with elegant Ladies Bar, lounge, dance area, enclosed verandahs and fully fitted adjoining kitchen. The hall seats in excess of 80 people and is popular for office and 21st Birthday Parties, Wedding Receptions, Anniversaries, Promotions, etc.


A monitored access and security system provides for secure parking.



Social Activities and Entertainment

Darts, Pool, Dominoes and other Gaming entertainment is available. Regular organised Club Functions.

Wednesday and Friday evenings 6 pm to 7 pm Lucky Draws, including free entry to Members Cash Jackpot Draw, which has on occasion reached thousands of Rands, Meat and number draws – all with free Bar snacks. Happy Hours.



Very reasonable entrance and subscription fees.
